Classes

Lugha Swahili School holds One-to-One virtual classes for individuals or a group of 4 to 6 students per teacher with our Tanzanian tutors. Learn with one of our amazing and well-trained Tanzanian tutors by booking yourself class easily with one of our tutors for just $18 an hour.

Our courses are fun, interactive, and contextual. The programme has benefited over 60 students to reach their goals of understanding and speaking Kiswahili and has enhanced their interactions at work and in life.

We recommend you book 10 hours to fully enjoy and appreciate the 10 lessons curricula designed by Lugha Swahili School and join our monthly group virtual classes with other students.

Who is the Course For?

The beginners course is designed for those who have not been exposed to Kiswahili prior to joining. The Intermediate course is designed for those who have already started their learning Swahili journey. Now it is time to learn to speak, read and write Swahili!

Beginners: No prior experience. Intermediate: Beginners level Swahili.

She founded Lugha Swahili School company in 2019 and has experience tutoring over 65 students across mainland Europe, USA, UK and East Africa. Her passion to share her culture and language has helped students achieve their goals.

Jake is a native Tanzanian tutor and co-founder of Lugha Swahili School, and has experience tutoring students across Europe, USA and East Africa for more than 3 years. He enjoys meeting people from different cultures, sharing the Swahili and has deep knowledge and expertise in the Kiswahili language.

Carolyn

Tutor

Carolyn Mwasha is a Tanzanian Dentist trainee and has been private tutor for 3 years teaching children and adults alike. She is a Lugha Swahili tutor since 2023 and teaches Swahili from beginner to intermediate levels. Carolyn enjoys teaching and mentors each student as she works closely with them. Her ability to craft compelling narratives for children and various well-tailored academic content in a relatable way sets her apart as a highly skilled writer and educator.

Joshua is a Tanzanian Lugha Swahili School tutor since 2023. “The only way to fully master a language is to be intertwined with the culture”.  Joshua enjoys introducing the taking students through various dimensions of the Swahili culture in order for students to not only learn the language but also be adequately equipped to interact with other native Swahili speakers.

Exaudy is a Tanzanian tutor with over 2 years of experience teaching the Swahili language to foreign students. He is a Lugha Swahili School tutor since 2023. He has a vast knowledge and experience of many different cultures, gained through having taught over 20 students from across Europe, America and Africa. He is a proud and enthusiastic tutor who enjoys not only teaching the language using proven best practice methods, but also providing deep insight into the history of the language and the accompanying Swahili culture behind it.

An experienced, enthusiastic and focused teacher who is committed to teaching, safeguarding the students and promoting the education and well-being of students. Yohannes is a Lugha Swahili School Tutor since 2013 and passionate about working as a team as he believes that team working promotes teaching and learning to be successful. Able to establish a supportive relationship with students and fellow teachers with the aim of reinforcing a student’s independence and self-esteem.
