How hard is it to learn the Kiswahili Language?

Kiswahili is the simplest African language to learn for an English speaker. It is one of the few sub-Saharan African languages, like English, that lacks lexical tone. Kiswahili uses the Latin Script and is written phonetically, so each letter represents one sound in the language.

Do you offer Kiswahili at Beginners level to Advanced level?

Yes, Lugha Swahili Schools offers classes from beginners to intermediate level. We can also offer advanced classes if there is demand. Currently the higher-intermediare and advanced are under construction. All lessons can be offered as an online video course or virtual teaching.

How do I book a virtual class/session?

To book a class/session, navigate to “Book a Class” on the main menu and select your tutor of choice by hovering on the “Book a Class with this Tutor” tab. This will take you to a calendar booking system where you can select your course level and proceed with booking and payment. Alternatively, subscribe to my our mailing list to get adverts on the next group sessions and live free classes.

What is the usual online class size?

Classes are held virtually on zoom or google meet, and sizes vary between 2 students minimum to 8 students maximum.

What resources and exercise materials are availabe?

Lugha Swahili School is an online platform that provides learning materials such as online video courses, e-workbooks pdf, audio e-book, online quizzes and flashcards. The school also offers online zoom group sessions and one-to-one sessions with a native Tanzanian tutor. There are lesson exercises and home exercises found in the lessons in the PDFs. There are also additional flashcard and online quizzes.

Can I get a refund if I'm unhappy with my purchase?

If you are unsatisfied with your classes, reach out to us to see if your purchase is eligible for a refund.
